Brooke Hartley, M.Ac, L.Ac, NTP
Brooke Hartley is a licensed practitioner of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. Brooke appreciates the complete medical system that Chinese Medicine has to offer. Incorporating acupuncture, herbal medicine, dietary therapy, and holistic life-style counseling, Chinese medicine is the longest standing, comprehensive approach to healing and wellness. It is a unique and thorough system of medicine which has truly withstood the test of time.
As a furniture and cabinet maker living in a cabin on the coast of Maine for 15 years, Brooke developed a profound appreciation for the hands-on process of creating functional objects from the natural materials of the forests that she spent much of her time exploring and observing. When Brooke developed a debilitating case of lyme disease she found an unexpected path back to health through acupuncture and herbal medicine. This life-changing occasion helped her see a bigger picture of balance and ultimately engendered a change in careers.
With a Bachelors degree in Human Ecology from College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor, Maine, the study of traditional healing modalities came naturally for Brooke. Learning about the natural world and how humans interact with it mirrors the study of Chinese Medicine. Instead of studying how humans interface with nature, traditional holistic medicine studies how nature exists within us. "How is the tree inside someone growing? Does it need more sunlight, richer soil, is it commensurate with the seasonal energy? in what way can we enrich the growing potential?" In this way Chinese Medicine restores the balance of natural energy within a person, thereby harmonizing their relationship to the world and awakening the body’s inherent capacity to heal.
Brooke received her Masters degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from Maryland University of Integrative Health in Laurel, Maryland in 2013, and her Functional Nutrition Certification from the Nutritional Therapy Association in 2021.
Outside of being the owner of Regenerative Holistic Wellness, a healing center in Hereford, Maryland, Brooke is a mom of two kids and a bunch of furry and feathered friends living on a homestead in No. Baltimore County. She enjoys backpacking, foraging, playing music and making art.
